I am at the dealership already talking to the F&I guy, he seems like a solid trustworthy guy, his name is Chad . Says a 96 month loan would work best. All they need to do is put some GPS tracker and engine immobilizer on the vehicle. Shouldn’t be a problem. Nice folks, they even threw in a all weather floor mats for free!

H onestly, there is truth in that - if your self worth is based on the vehicle you drive you likely have some issues... Most minvans are super functional vehicles, (and could probably dust that Jeep at the stoplight too.)

5% under invoice isn’t uncommon. Heck, join Tread Lightly and with no other negotiating, you’re 1% under invoice.

That doesn’t make them cheap, but you can pay well under sticker. Before I bought the 4Runner, I had a written dealer offer of $42,600 for one with a sticker of just over $49k.

Just ran some stupid math:

Assuming 84 months @4.5% and just enough down payment to bring price to $50k. Then assuming only 27% depreciation (from FP article) after 5 years. All that comes to the vehicle being worth 1.2%  more than it’s loan at 5 years.
